Ele/Necro PvP build
So, I've been playing now for a long while as a E/R and decided try something else besides the old air spiker build for pvp and fire nuker build for pve. So I tried a Monk secondary and thought about a mesmer secondary. I've been trying a necro secondary and found it interesting. Since I started playing this game, I've always liked the idea of a water elementalist, but that is not the way this game seems to work. So, here is a Water hex/curses build that I've been playing with in Random Arenas.
The point allocation is like this:
10 Curses
12 Water Magic (Minor Water)
12 Energy Storage (All Seeing Eye and Minor Energy Storage)
Can be boosted by superior runes of course
The skill list is like this:
Ice Spear
Elemental Attunement (E) (Glyph of Energy could work here too.)
Ice Spikes
Deep Freeze
Blurred Vision
Soul Barbs
Faintheartedness (Spinal Shivers could work here too.)
Resurrection Signet
This build was first thought up as a fight against the strong boon/prot monks. Soul Barbs deals an extra 25 damage (at 10 Curses) for every hex and enchantment cast on a foe. Between my hexes and the monks constant enchantment casting, they don't get as much healing as they would like. As far as protecting myself, Faintheartedness and blurred vision help me against warriors and rangers. Also, once the monk is dead, soul barbs goes on my next target. Also, I've tried to minimize the amount of long casting spells because they are always interrupted by mesmers or rangers. As an added bonus, I can now use my formerly pieces of crap Flint's Wand and Milius' Eye.
